Olympics 2024: Lani Pallister pulls out of 1500m freestyle as Australian swimmer tests positive for Covid
Australian pool star Lani Pallister has pulled out of the 1500m freestyle heats at the Olympics after testing positive for Covid. The 22-year-old was a hopeful for a medal but will now rest ahead of the 4x200m freestyle relay on Thursday. She withdrew from the 400m freestyle before the Games began, and was replaced by Jamie Perkins, to save her energy for her other events, including the 800m. Pallister overcame an eating disorder and heart surgery to qualify for the Paris Olympic Games.
