King Juan Carlos, the former monarch of Spain, revealed a "disagreement" with his daughter-in-law, Queen Letizia, in his upcoming memoir

The former King writes that the wife of his son and successor, King Felipe, "did not help to strengthen our family ties"

Juan Carlos' tell-all memoir, Reconciliation, is set to be published on Nov. 5 in France

King Juan Carlos, the former monarch of Spain, is telling all in his new memoir, Reconciliation.

Juan Carlos, 87, who has lived in self-imposed exile in the United Arab Emirates for the last five years after abdicating the throne in 2014, opens up his reign and his relationships in the forthcoming book, set to be published in France on Nov. 5.

In an excerpt shared by Spanish publication El Confidencial on Wednesday, Oct. 29, the former King has some harsh words for his daughter-in-law, the current Queen Letizia. Translated into English, Juan Carlos admits there is "personal disagreement" between him and the wife of his son and successor, King Felipe.

"She did not help to strengthen our family ties," he adds of Queen Letizia.

The statement marks the first time the former King has confirmed long-standing rumors of a rift within the Spanish royal family.

King Felipe and Queen Letizia married on May 22, 2004. They share two daughters, Princess Leonor, 19, and Princess Sofia, 18.

While the Queen was something of a controversial choice for the bride of a future king, as she had been married before and grew up working class, the royal rift likely stems from a more complicated history with the family.

Juan Carlos acceded to the Spanish throne in 1975 as the chosen successor of dictator Francisco Franco. While he was expected to continue Franco's regime, he almost immediately began working to install democracy in the country.

While initially very popular among his people, by 2013, multiple scandals — including romantic affairs, financial misappropriation and an infamous elephant hunting trip to Africa — led the King to abdicate and pass the throne to his youngest child and only son, King Felipe.

Then, in 2018, Juan Carlos' alleged spurned mistress, Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn, went to the police to accuse him of corrupt business deals with Saudi Arabia. While the case was later dropped, the former King lost his public stipend from the State's General Budget as punishment from the crown, and King Felipe agreed to give up all inheritance from his father.

He was also accused of harassment by zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn, though he later won an appeal in that case.

In 2020, Juan Carlos decided to move to the UAE so as not to let public attention on him, or his ongoing financial scandals, overshadow his son's reign. His wife, Queen Sofía, remained in Spain and often attends royal events with King Felipe and his family.

"To help my son, I looked for a place where journalists from my country couldn't easily find me," Juan Carlos told French newspaper Le Figaro in an interview published this week.

Juan Carlos' forthcoming book also addresses his connection to another royal family and the rumors that he seduced Princess Diana.

Rumors about the two started swirling in the late 1980s when Diana and then-Prince Charles, along with their sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, vacationed at the Marivent Palace, the Spanish royal family's summer home in Palma de Mallorca, for three consecutive summers.

Despite his reputation as a womanizer, the former King denies the affair in his memoir. In fact, he unfavorably describes Diana as "cold, taciturn, distant, except in the presence of the paparazzi."

Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten Windsor -

King Charles has officially stripped his brother Andrew of all royal titles, including 'Prince,' and he will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor

In addition, Andrew will be forced to give up his living accommodations at the Royal Lodge in Windsor and will move to a property on the royal family's private Sandringham estate

Where will Andrew's ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, live now that she has lived with him at Royal Lodge for many years following their divorce?

Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, now faces questions about her future residence after her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, was stripped of all royal titles and ordered to leave Royal Lodge, where she has also lived for more than 20 years.

On Thursday, Oct. 30, Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles has officially removed Andrew's royal titles. The 65-year-old will no longer be a prince or His Royal Highness and will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. He has also been formally ordered to surrender his lease at Royal Lodge.

PEOPLE understands that Ferguson, who continued to live with Andrew at Royal Lodge after their 1996 divorce, is making her own living arrangements. PEOPLE has reached out to a spokesperson for Ferguson for comment.

Andrew is set to relocate to an unnamed property on the private Sandringham estate, with future accommodations privately funded by King Charles. It is not known whether Ferguson will join him.

The fallout for the former couple comes amid renewed scrutiny of their past ties to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The palace's statement read, in part, "His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease, and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him."

"Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse," the statement concluded.

Sarah remained the Duchess of York following her divorce from Andrew. However, following her ex-husband's decision to give up the use of his royal titles earlier this month — before they were officially stripped by the King — Sarah clarified that she would only be using the name "Sarah Ferguson" going forward, as she has for many years.

The former couple's daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, are again unaffected by the latest change to their father's title. PEOPLE understands that they will be able to retain the title of Princess and "Her Royal Highness" as the daughters of the son of a sovereign, in line with letters patent issued by King George V of 1917.

In January 2022, Queen Elizabeth' stripped her son of his military titles and patronages after he attempted to have alleged Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre's sexual assault lawsuit against him dismissed. Andrew told the BBC that he had cut ties with Epstein in 2010.

However, on Oct. 12, 2025, The Mail on Sunday and The Sun on Sunday concurrently published an email that the Duke of York allegedly wrote to Epstein the day after the infamous picture of the prince with his arm around Giuffre was published by The Mail on Sunday in 2011.

Andrew reportedly wrote, "I'm just as concerned for you! Don't worry about me! It would seem we are in this together and will have to rise above it."

"Otherwise, keep in close touch, and we'll play some more soon!!!!" he added, before signing off with "A, HRH The Duke of York, KG." The KG is a reference to him being a knight of the prestigious Order of the Garter. All titles in Andrew's sign-off have since been stripped from him.

As for Ferguson, her own online correspondence with Epstein has also come under recent scrutiny. Last month, she was dropped as the patron of multiple charitable organizations after it was revealed that she'd sent an email to Epstein apologizing for publicly disowning him and calling him a "supreme friend" in a March 2011 interview with the Evening Standard.

At the time, Ferguson told the publication she had made a "terrible, terrible error of judgment" when she accepted nearly $20,000 from Epstein to pay off her debts. Referencing the accusations against her infamous friend, she added, "I abhor paedophilia."

However, the following month, Sarah reportedly backtracked in an email to Epstein, also published by The Sun and The Mail on Sunday, calling him a "steadfast, generous and supreme friend."

"As you know, I did not, absolutely not, say the P [pedophile] word about you," she reportedly wrote. "I know you feel hellaciously let down by me. And I must humbly apologise to you and your heart for that. You have always been a steadfast, generous and supreme friend to me and my family."

Changes on the 2025-2026 awards trail to look out for include major shifts for several awards bodies.

The Academy will implement its new Casting category this year, atop a rule change that requires members to see all nominated films in a specific bracket before casting a ballot for that grouping.

The Golden Globes further announced a new Best Podcast category for the upcoming ceremony, with controversial figures like Ben Shapiro, Candace Owens, Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson, and Joe Rogan all landing on the 25-strong shortlist for eligibility earlier this year.

- *Back to the Future *star Michael J. Fox writes in his memoir that fans still pester him about one small anachronism in the film.

- The temporal goof concerns the famed Gibson ES-345 that Fox's character, Marty McFly, plays during the 1955-set school dance scene.

- *Back to the Future *celebrates its 40th anniversary this year with a return to theaters on Nov. 7, and a jam-packed new 4K Steelbook.

For most, time travel movies provide great, escapist fun. For others, they're just minefields of aggravating anachronisms.

In his new memoir about the making of the 1985 sci-fi comedy classic *Back to the Future* — *Future Boy*, released on Tuesday — star Michael J. Fox breaks the narrative at multiple points to sing the praises of the film's enduringly loyal fans. But he's aware that the flip side of close and attentive watching is scrutiny of even the film's most minor mistakes.

Case in point, the iconic scene in which Fox's time-traveling teenager Marty McFly fills in for the injured guitarist in a 1955 prom band and launches into rocking renditions of "Earth Angel" and "Johnny B. Goode," channeling pioneering rock legend Chuck Berry.

"To play 'Johnny B. Goode,' Marty borrowed Marvin Berry's Gibson ES-345, a guitar first introduced in 1958 - three years after the 1955 scene in the movie," Fox explains, calling the goof "a temporal inconsistency that guitar aficionados and *Back to the Future* fans have pointed out again and again."

Fox writes, "Granted, this is noteworthy only for the thousands of *Future* heads who clock every detail in the movie and parse every quirk in the timeline continuum."

But staying real, a film like *Back to the Future -* which continues to generate repertory screenings, inspire fan conventions, and sell merchandise like a newly released blockbuster - has a fanbase comprised of more than a few obsessives.

Fox clarifies that where the "Johnny B. Goode" guitar is concerned, "there's no cinematic Easter egg intended here - the film's art department simply picked the ES-345 because it evoked the iconic wine-red axe that Chuck Berry famously duckwalked across stages all over the world."

How 'Back to the Future' tried to hide Michael J. Fox replacing Eric Stoltz as Marty McFly

Michael J. Fox in 'Back to the Future'

'Back to the Future' crew member saved Michael J. Fox from dangerous stunt pushed by director

Back to the Future (1985) Michael J. Fox

Fox is right — guitar heads and *Future *devotees alike have taken note of the production flub, even pointing out that like the ES-345, Berry's "Johnny B. Goode" wouldn't be released until 1958. It would track that Marty knows the tune, coming from 1985, but how would his 1955 backing band know to accompany him on a song that wasn't yet written?

In any case, Fox notes that "both the '55 and '58 versions of the Gibson electric are rare and beautiful instruments; for me, it makes little difference which I played. I've always loved the Gibson E line: big, imposing guitars yet hollow-bodied and therefore lightweight. Even a little guy like yours truly could sling 'em and fling 'em and still make 'em sing."

It's an exciting time to be someone who hyperfixates on this particular *Back to the Future *flub.

In June, Gibson announced a global search for the guitar that Marty plays in the film, which Fox notes in *Future Boy*,* *"In the decades since the movie's release, the guitar used in 'Johnny B. Goode' has grown more important for what it isn't than what it is. What it isn't is available— which is to say, it's missing."

In its announcement, the instrument-maker explained that "during the making of the sequel to the film, the filmmakers went to look for the guitar, and it was nowhere to be found. Now, music fans worldwide have the chance to help Gibson find the most important guitar in cinema history." Fox and several of his costars, including Lea Thompson and Christopher Lloyd, added their voices to the company's plea, encouraging fans to visit www.losttothefuture.com with any tips.

All anyone seems to want to ask Famke Janssen about these days is Jean Grey. It's the question she's asked most often: Will she return as the telekinetic, telepathic mutant from the *X-Men* movies?

"Every time I do an interview, it's mentioned," Janssen tells **. (We acknowledge that we, too, asked her about Jean Grey.) "It's interesting. I didn't realize that was such a big part. Every interview I do, that will come up, and of everything I say, that is going to be the only thing that's gonna be printed."

In our defense, we ran a story first on *Amsterdam Empire*.

Janssen starred as Jean first in 2000's *X-Men*, followed by *X2: X-Men United* (2003), *X-Men: The Last Stand* (2006), as a memory in *The Wolverine* (2013), and then finally a cameo in *X-Men: Days of Future Past* (2014). Ever since Marvel announced some of her costars from that movie era would be reprising their roles for next year's *Avengers: Doomsday* and enter the Disney-owned MCU franchise for the first time, the fans want to know if Janssen is following suit.

When asked if Marvel ever asked her to reprise Jean after that Fox era of movies, the actress replied, "Never. Never ever."

Stop poking him! Jesse Eisenberg has signed out of *The Social Network *chat. **

The actor, who was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Meta billionaire and big Sweet Baby Ray's guy Mark Zuckerberg in Aaron Sorkin's 2010 film, tried his best to dodge a question about his decision not to reprise his role in its forthcoming follow-up while visiting the *Today* show on Thursday. **

"There's been some reporting that you passed on the sequel," anchor Craig Melvin said. "Why?" **

Eisenberg played off the question. "You know, I was in Paris. And I had some tools, and I figured there was a way to make a little more of a statement at the Louvre," he teased, referencing the Parisian museum's recent jewel heist.

Melvin laughed. "I see what you did there," he said. **

To which Eisenberg quickly fired back, "Yeah, I see what *you* did there. We both are playing chess."**

"Okay," Melvin said. **

"Okay," Eisenberg replied. **

Insert one very awkward stalemate between the pair here. That is, until Melvin broke the silence by telling Eisenberg, "Your turn."

Jesse Eisenberg suspects his 'Now You See Me' costar Woody Harrelson was part of Louvre heist

The *Now You See Me* star appeared gobsmacked by the sudden reversal. "Your turn? *My* turn?" he said, leaning forward in his seat. "I don't… What… How… What do you have coming out next month?"**

Melvin laughed again before getting them back on track. "*The Social Network*!" he exclaimed. "Why would you say no to a sequel of that?"**

For "reasons that have nothing to do with how amazing that movie will be, really, truthfully," Eisenberg replied. "But when you play a character, you feel at some point that you've grown into something else."**

When asked if he felt like he'd outgrown the role, Eisenberg continued, "Yeah, something. But it's a really wonderful movie. I'm friends with Aaron Sorkin, who wrote and is directing this movie, and all of the reasons that I am not in it are completely unrelated to how brilliant it will be."

The upcoming film, titled* The Social Reckoning*, will instead see Jeremy Strong take over as the newest onscreen iteration of Zuckerberg. While speaking with *The Hollywood Reporter *at an event earlier this month, Strong stated that Eisenberg's portrayal of the tech titan has "nothing to do with" his own.**

He added, "It's a great character — fascinating, complex — and I'm approaching it with great care and empathy and objectivity. I've made two films with Aaron, and third time's the charm."**

Earlier this year, Eisenberg explained why he doesn't want to be "associated" with Zuckerberg moving forward.

"I haven't been following [Zuckerberg's] life trajectory, partly because I don't.... When I think of myself as associated with somebody like that, it's not like I played a great golfer and now people think I'm a great golfer. It's this guy that's doing things that are problematic," Eisenberg said on BBC Radio 4's *Today* program in February. "Taking away fact-checking and safety concerns, making people who are already threatened in this world more threatened."**

He's not the only actor keeping his distance from the project, either. Andrew Garfield, who played Mark's betrayed bestie, Eduardo Saverin, has also denied any involvement in the future follow-up.

"No, no," Garfield told IndieWire. "Eduardo is in Singapore having a good time."**

NASA has responded to Kim Kardashian after she alleged that the 1969 moon landing didn't happen during Thursday's episode of "The Kardashians."

NASA acting administrator Sean Duffy took to X to refute Kardashian's claims that the landmark event was staged.

"Yes, we've been to the Moon before… 6 times!" Duffy wrote on X, tagging the reality star.

He then acknowledged the Artemis program, which is "going back under the leadership" of President Donald Trump. "We won the last space race and we will win this one too," Duffy concluded.

During Thursday night's episode of "The Kardashians," the reality star is shown on the set of her upcoming "All's Fair" drama series attempting to convince her co-star, Sarah Paulson, that the space journey wasn't real.

"I'm sending you a million articles with both Buzz Aldrin and the other one," Kardashian says to Paulson while they're receiving touch-ups.

Kardashian reads from an article that reportedly features a person asking Buzz Aldrin, the NASA astronaut who landed on the moon during the Apollo 11 space mission, what the scariest moment of the expedition was. While reading from the story, she doubts his answer to the question claiming Aldrin has "gotten old and now he likes slurs," before reiterating that she doesn't believe it happened.

"I center conspiracies all the time," she said in a later confessional.

When a producer asks for clarity about her theory, she responds, "I don't think we did. I think it was fake. I've seen a few videos on Buzz Aldrin talking about how it didn't happen. He says it all the time now, in interviews. Maybe we should find Buzz Aldrin."

In 2022, Reuters published a report addressing claims circling on social media that the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing was faked. The organization denounced the speculations, writing, "social media users are sharing a video of astronaut Buzz Aldrin being interviewed by American television host Conan O'Brien and claiming that Aldrin discussing parts of the moon landing broadcasts being animated is proof that it was all faked." Their fact-checking noted the astronaut was referring to "animations used by broadcasters at the time in their coverage of the moon landing, intercut with real footage. The moon landing did take place, and men did walk on the moon."

Taylor Sheridan and Peter Berg have found their next action-packed collaboration: a feature film adaptation of Call of Duty.

Entertainment Weekly has learned that the Yellowstone creator and Friday Night Lights writer-director have signed on to produce the film alongside Paramount and Activision, the video game publisher behind the blockbuster game. Sheridan and Berg will also co-write the script together, with Berg set to direct.

Sheridan, best known for creating a vast empire of television shows that began with Yellowstone, has teamed up with Berg in the past. Together, the longtime friends produced 2017's Wind River — which recently enjoyed a resurgence on streaming — and 2016's Hell or Highwater, which earned four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Screenplay.

As far as their action capabilities, Sheridan previously penned Sicario and its sequel, while Berg directed espionage thriller Mile 22, war film Lone Survivor, and action-comedy Spenser Confidential.

The Call of Duty franchise has been the No. 1 best-selling video game series in the U.S. for 16 consecutive years, with over 500 million copies sold globally and reaching hundreds of millions of players worldwide. No plot or character details have been announced for the upcoming movie, though the filmmakers certainly won't lack inspiration. The series has seen dozens of releases across the years, with the first-person shooter games typically following a group or individual in the midst of a military conflict. Settings have ranged from the Cold War and World War II to fictional, futuristic timelines.

News of a Call of Duty movie emerged earlier this year, with Puck reporting that Paramount had turned down a pitch from Steven Spielberg to adapt the game into a feature film.

Sheridan's latest Paramount collaboration comes on the heels of a major shakeup in his TV empire: the Yellowstone creator is departing the studio after inking a five-year overall deal for film, TV, and streaming with NBCUniversal. Starting in 2029, Sheridan will be creating new IP for the network.

After beginning his Hollywood career as an actor, Sheridan has become one of the most prolific television creators of the decade. His TV deal with Paramount, which lasts through 2028, has spawned such series as Mayor of Kingstown, Landman, Special Ops: Lioness, Tulsa King, and several Yellowstone spinoffs such as The Madison, 1883, and 1923.

Comparatively, Sheridan's feature film projects have been fewer and far between, with titles including 2021's Those Who Wish Me Dead and his upcoming thriller, F.A.S.T., starring Brandon Sklenar.

Robert De Niro's daughter Airyn is opening up about his support after she came out as transgender.

"The support has still been nonstop from him, and I'm so grateful," the 30-year-old told Them in a follow-up interview to the publication's April interview.

"He was talking about how happy he was for me," Airyn said of Robert, 82, "because I have an amazing boyfriend who he's met, and [he said], 'You have somebody who loves you for you, and you don't need to change yourself for anybody.'"

Recently the father-daughter duo were in a therapy session, discussing her transition. "He said, 'There's no other thing to do than accept your kid for who they are and where they decide to go in life,'" recalled Airyn. "He's very good at being a dad and, not just that, [but also] accepting people from all walks of life."

Airyn's mother, actress Toukie Smith, shares her and twin brother Julian with Robert. The Killers of the Flower Moon star has seven kids total; his youngest is Gia, whom he welcomed with girlfriend Tiffany Chen in April 2023.

Robert told PEOPLE in a statement in June that he "loved and supported" Airyn before her transition, "and now I love and support Airyn as my daughter."

He added at the time, "I don't know what the big deal is… I love all my children."

Speaking to Them about embracing her inner Goth just in time for Halloween, Airyn said it feels "very healing" to "experience worlds, communities, aesthetics, and fashions in a body that you've always wanted to be in but weren't before."

She also discussed her relationship with singing, saying, "the only people that have heard me sing are my mom, my dad, my sister and Ariana Grande."

After meeting years ago, the pop superstar recently reconnected with Airyn amid filming Focker-in-Law with Robert and Ben Stiller. "I sent her a little clip of me singing, and she was so kind about it," revealed Airyn. "She really gave me a confidence boost."
