All the individuals on board the small aircraft have been killed, officials stated.
The plane was making an attempt to make an emergency landing at John C. Tune Airport but landed close to Interstate 40.
The pilot informed air visitors control crews that the aircraft wouldn't make the airport because of the engine shutting down.
"I'm going to be landing – I don't know where," the pilot stated earlier than the crash.
"I'm too distant. I'm not going to make it," he stated.
This was the final that was heard from the plot before the aircraft dropped off the radar because it lost altitude.
Horror footage show the aircraft on hearth as it hit the bottom.
"That influence was catastrophic and didn't depart any survivors," Kendra Loney, of the Nashville Hearth Division, stated.
Of the 5 passengers, three of them have been youngsters, stated National Transportation Safety Board investigator Aaron McCarter at a press convention.
McCarter added that each one 5 have been Canadian residents and that the agency is working with the federal government to verify their identities.
The aircraft landed close to a Costco warehouse and was just three miles away from the airport.
Officials stated they're relieved the aircraft didn't hit any buildings because it hurtled to the ground.
Hearth crews revealed that there have been no accidents on the bottom.
Officers from the NTSB and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating.
Crews have been pictured on the scene surveying the mangled wreckage.
Lanes on Interstate 40 have been closed following the crash.
Drivers have been warned of delays on Tuesday morning.
