A BINMAN battled by way of billowing smoke to rescue two individuals and a dog from a blazing flat.
Steve Whitehouse, 49, spotted the hearth, brought on by an e-bike battery explosion, during his morning collection round with driver Kevin Marriott.


The dad of one climbed a wall 3 times to succeed in a balcony.
From there, he obtained a lady, a person and their dog to security from a first-floor flat in Tipton, West Mids.
The man, in his 20s, was handled in hospital for the consequences of smoke.
Hearth chief Chris Green stated: "It was clear as we approached that this was a severe hearth.
"I've little question that, with out Steve's unimaginable bravery, the result might have been very totally different.
"I do not know how he managed to do what he did. It was heroic.
"The hearth and smoke have been popping out of the property's rear door like a blow torch.
"One rescue would have been exceptional.
"To save lots of the lives of two individuals and a dog is staggering.
"We shall be putting him forward for official recognition."
